On Passive Bias Networks for Drain-Modulated Power Amplifiers

چکیده
This paper revisits usual passive bias networks for microwave power amplifiers (PA), considering not only their effects on PA stability, but also its suitability to be used in drain modulated amplifiers. Some technical limitations and challenges regarding the design of PA in structures based on envelope tracking techniques, such as Polar Transmitters or Envelope Elimination and Restoration (EER) are presented.

Analysis, Design Optimization and Perfor- Mance Comparison of Bias Adapted and Asymmetrical Doherty Power Amplifiers
Doherty type Power Amplifier (DPA) design is one of the most practical efficiency enhancement methods that provide moderate linearity. Asymmetrical device usage and employment of bias adaptation are among the most commonly used Doherty architectures in recent applications. In this paper, the efficiency performances of bias adapted DPA and asymmetrical DPA are compared based on the efficiency ex...

In this paper first we try to analysis the behavior ofthe SOAs in the optical networks and then have proposed anumerical simple model to simulate the behavior of thesemiconductor optical amplifiers. After that by employing thismodel as inline amplifier for a DWDM optical system, we havesimulated the transmission of 10 channels with bit rate 10 Gb/sup to distance 3970 km with RZ-DPSK modulation ...
متن کاملLinearity of X-Band Class-F Power Amplifiers in High-Efficiency Transmitters
Modern communication signals have time-varying envelopes with significant peak-to-average ratios, resulting in low average efficiency when amplified by commonly used linear power amplifiers (PAs). For linear amplification with increased average efficiency, the Kahn envelope-elimination-and-restoration method uses a highly efficient saturated PA. In this paper, an 8.4-GHz class-F PA with 55% max...
متن کاملKeysight Technologies Simulation and Measurement-based X-parameter Models for Power Amplifiers with Envelope Tracking
Static X-parameter (XP) models for RF power amplifiers (PAs), derived from both simulations and nonlinear vector network analyzer (NVNA) measurements, are investigated for the prediction of PA performance under dynamic signal conditions such as in envelope tracking (ET). The instantaneous AM-AM, AM-PM and PAE predictions of XP models extracted from simulation are compared under ET dynamic signa...

The abstract should include: what you are doing; why you are doing it; how you did it (designed using some tool); what are the main results (numbers: at what frequency, what gain, what ripple, ...) and finally what the main contribution and/or conclusion is. Be specific. For example: Abstract—This paper describes the design, implementation and characterization of a high-efficiency 10-GHzThis pa...
